Operating hours at Mission Memorial Emergency Department reduced through the holidays
MISSION — Fraser Health is announcing a temporary change to the operating hours of the Emergency Department at Mission Memorial Hospital. Beginning Monday, December 29, the Emergency Department will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In the news release, the health authority says the temporary change in hours will continue through the holiday season to Tuesday, January 6. It says it expects to return to 24-hour service on Wednesday, January 7 at 8 a.m.
Staffing issues are behind the adjustments. Fraser Health says the move will help the public to receive safe, consistent and responsible care by aligning hours with available staff.
Fraser Health says people requiring emergency outside of the Emergency Department operating hours should call 911. Paramedics will take them to an appropriate emergency department to tend to their needs.
