Suspect arrested after convenience store assault in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — One man has been arrested after reports of an assault at a convenience store Thursday morning (Dec. 18).

Just after 11 a.m., AbbyPD officers responded to an assault in progress near McCallum Road and Cannon Avenue.

The incident reportedly started when a store clerk asked a man to leave the premises, at which point the man immediately assaulted the clerk.

Once police arrived, the suspect then became aggressive toward the first officer, leading more units to respond.

Richard Fekete, 49, has been charged with assaulting a police officer, assault and obstruction.
