Ridge Meadows RCMP seek electronic bike stolen from child with special needs

MAPLE RIDGE — Police in Maple Ridge are on the lookout for a child’s mobility bike stolen Friday afternoon (Dec. 19).

At around 1:30 p.m., a resident flagged down RCMP frontline officers outside a store in the 11800 block of 224 Street after the electronic bike was taken off a bike rack.

Police then learned that the bike had been stolen in the northwest corner outside the store only 30 minutes earlier.

The bike is described as a black Volt Trio Trike with a car seat on the back.

It belongs to a child who needs the bike to get around.

Officers have searched the area and are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspect.
