ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford say significant progress has been made into a series of break-and-enter crimes reported across the Lower Mainland, culminating in a recent seizure of firearms and stolen gold and silver bullion.

In a statement, the Abbotsford Police Department says their Crime Reduction Unit initiated an investigation on October 16, 2025 after multiple break-and-enter reports were reported to authorities. Following extensive investigative activities, police officers identified suspects associated with these incidents to be connected to a notoriously “well-known problem” home in the 27800 block of Myrtle Avenue in northwest Abbotsford.

On Wednesday, December 10, Crime Reduction Unit members teamed up with AbbyPD’s patrol shift 2 members and the Lower Mainland ERT to execute a search warrant at the Myrtle Avenue home.

According to AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, the search resulted in the discovery of:

•Five firearms

•A significant quantity of various caliber ammunition

•Approximately $30,000 in stolen gold and silver bullion

•Additional stolen property and evidence linked to the break-and-enter investigation

“This operation demonstrates our commitment to targeting prolific offenders and problem residences that impact community safety,” said AbbyPD Sergeant Cory Johansen. “This investigation remains active, and charges are anticipated.”

Police are asking anyone with information related to this investigation to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225. The AbbyPD file is 2025 – 44414.
