LAKE ERROCK/DEWDNEY/DEROCHE — Over 1,500 BC Hydro customers between Mission and Agassiz along the Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway) corridor have lost power Tuesday evening.

According to BC Hydro’s online dashboard, the outage affecting 1,542 customers began at 6:26 p.m. It affects customers in Lake Errock, Dewdney, Deroche and an area just west of Harrison Mills.

The cause is under investigation. No crews have been assigned just yet, and there is currently no expected time when power might be restored.

For the most part, power has been restored to communities in Chehalis, Hemlock Valley and the Harrison area, but this outage is just the latest in one of many outages as windstorms have walloped the eastern Fraser Valley.
