Keith Wilson Bridge to undergo urgent work: City of Chilliwack

Dec 14, 2025 | 8:07 PM

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack says urgent work will be required at the Keith Wilson Bridge in Greendale due to recent weather events.

In a social media post Sunday night, the city says there will be single-lane traffic on Keith Wilson Road from Boundary Road to Chadsey Road starting Monday morning, Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The intent of the urgent work is to dislodge debris stemming from the extreme precipitation this past week that saw Chilliwack receive over 90 mm of rain on Wednesday.

Motorists should expect delays and stay tuned for updates at chilliwack.com/floodwatch.

Earlier on Sunday, the BC River Forecast Centre upgraded the Chilliwack River and tributaries to a flood warning. With the upcoming heavy rainfall and weather conditions starting Sunday night and lasting into Monday evening, coupled with the existing elevated river and creek levels and current ground saturation, there is an increased risk of localized flooding and debris slides. The City of Chilliwack says public works crews are actively monitoring local conditions, as well as any new information from the BC River Forecast Centre and Environment and Climate Change Canada, and will provide updates when new information becomes available through social media and chilliwack.com/floodwatch.

Please stay safe, stay aware, and check on neighbours who may need assistance.
