Highway trouble in eastern Fraser Valley

CHILLIWACK — Several key highways in the Eastern Fraser Valley are impacted by the effects of the atmospheric river that slammed through the region.

Eastbound traffic along Highway 1 east of Chilliwack is closed from the intersection of Highway 9 to Hope due to floodwaters.

Highway 1 was closed overnight between Lytton and Yale but reopened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 11) morning.

Highway 7 west of Hope is subject to single-lane alternating traffic because of rocks on the road. It had been closed for several hours Wednesday (Dec. 10).

Highway 9 is closed between the start of Highway 9 and Gray Road and Highway 3 is closed at Exit 177.
