Woman found dead in Nanaimo, B.C., is being investigated as a homicide
NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo, B.C., say they are investigating the disappearance of a 65-year-old woman and the subsequent discovery of her body as a homicide.
RCMP say Sherry Shelley was reported missing on Nov. 14 but she was found dead later on the same day.
The woman’s remains were found after officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a wooded area near the intersection of College Drive and Highway 19.
Investigators say they are now focusing on any video footage of the woman’s vehicle, a white Volkswagen Tiguan SUV, before she went missing.
