Police presence surrounds Hope residence Sunday night

HOPE — A Hope RCMP spokesperson says two people were taken into custody Sunday night in Hope after police located a vehicle taken from Mission, B.C. without permission.

According to a statement from Hope RCMP spokesperson Staff Sgt. Mike Sargent, Hope RCMP located a white Chevy Suburban in the area of Richmond Drive in Hope at approximately 7:19 p.m. on Sunday night, Dec. 7. The vehicle in question had been reportedly taken without consent from Mission.

Police also received information that potentially a firearm was in the vehicle.

S/Sgt. Sargent says a man and a woman from inside the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. A BB gun was also located inside the vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing, S/Sgt. Sargent said.
