LANGLEY — The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit says Highway 1 through Langley will be detoured in the late evening to overnight hours starting this week for the next three weeks.

According to a statement from the provincial government, motorists should plan for overnight detours along Highway 1 at the 264 Street interchange in Langley as work advances on the highway reconstruction project.

Between 11 p.m. and 4:30 a.m., starting Tuesday, Dec. 9 through Dec. 31, 2025, Highway 1 traffic in both directions will be detoured through the 264 Street interchange’s on and off ramps.

A total of 10 overnight closures are anticipated to occur within this timeframe, weather permitting. There will be no detours on the nights of Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 28.

The ministry says this traffic-pattern change is needed to allow the Ministry of Transportation and Transit’s contractor to install girders over Highway 1 as part of bridge construction at the 264 Street interchange.

These closures are in addition to regular, ongoing overnight lane closures that are needed for the continued safe construction of the 264th Street interchange, advancing the widening of Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and follow posted signs.
