Chilliwack fire crews respond to Bailey Rd. fire; blaze could be suspicious in nature due to ‘grow op’ mention
CHILLIWACK — Roughly a dozen Chilliwack fire units were paged Monday evening (Dec. 8) for the report of a structure fire at a rural property on Bailey Road.
According to scanner traffic, Engines 4, 4-2, the duty chief, Ladder 4, and Tower 4 were initially paged at about 5:17 p.m. for a fire in the 46700 block of Bailey Road, east of Chilliwack River Road.
When firefighters asked dispatch if the fire was confirmed by more than a single caller, dispatch confirmed they had gotten two callers reporting a fire. As a result, Rehab 6, Rescue 1, Air Support 4, Engines 1, 1-2, 2, 5 and 6 were paged due to the second alarm being activated.
Dispatch told firefighters it was a work shed or barn on fire.
