Circuit failures, downed trees cut power to customers in Chilliwack and Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — Thousands of Abbotsford customers – and hundreds more in Chilliwack – may have woken up without power Saturday morning, December 6.
BC Hydro reported outages affecting a total of over 4,907 Abbotsford homes in areas south of Trans Canada Way, south of Westminster Drive, west of Angus Campbell Road, south of Parallel Road and south of Fraser Street due to a “transmission circuit failure”.
Power was shown to be restored by 8:30 a.m., but a tree that had fallen across BC Hydro wires from 7 a.m. continued to affect 592 customers south of McMillan Road to north of Marcet Court.
Over 200 customers in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack have also gone without power from south of Yarrow Central to east of Tolmie.
