Portion of Chilliwack road to close for sewer pipe work starting Monday

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack is advising residents about an upcoming road closure after the weekend as crews continue work on a sanitary forcemain upgrade on Wolfe Road.

The stretch from Dyke Road to Ashwell Road will be closed from 7 a.m. on December 8 to 7 p.m. on December 10.

“There will be a detour in place during the road closure,” said the City. “Residents with driveways within the road closure area will have continuous access to and from their properties from the west (Schweyey-Chilliwack Mountain).”

Crews have been working to replace 970 metres of new sewer pipes along Hodgins Avenue and Wolfe Road from Dyke Road to Sunset Drive with a larger sewer main, which would up “capacity for future development” and “improve the reliability of the sewer system in the area”.
