ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says McCallum Road is closed Friday morning in Abbotsford after a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.

Frontline officers responded to a serious collision involving a white pickup truck on McCallum Road, just south of Busby Road, at 5:28 a.m.

Crews found a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries and took them to hospital, but the individual did not survive.

Police say the driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with investigators.

“While impairment is not believed to be a factor, poor lighting conditions in the area and dark clothing are considered factors in the collision,” said Sgt. Paul Walker with AbbyPD.

McCallum Road is expected to remain closed for several hours as investigators conduct their work.

The investigation remains in its early stages and is being supported by ICARS.

Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the incident is asked to contact Abbotsford police at 604-859-5225 and quote file number 2025-52281.
