Hard work pays off for former G.W. Graham standout who’s set to play Div. 1 football in the U.S.
CHILLIWACK — A G.W. Graham football standout who excelled over three seasons for the Grizzlies program before playing in Florida his senior year has signed with a Division 1 NCAA program in the United States.
Zack Corrigan, a lineman standing 6-foot-4 and a half and weighing 300 pounds, has signed with Southeastern Louisiana University.
He reposted an announcement from the Southeastern football program earlier today (Wednesday, Dec. 3) about the signing.
“It means a lot for me as a Canadian athlete,” Corrigan told Fraser Valley Today via text message. “I want to show the NCAA that Canadian athletes can play football and put Canadian football on a higher stage. Me achieving my dreams of going D1 means a lot, especially coming from a small farm town. I want to show kids from all over Canada that achieving your dreams is possible if you can put in the work.”
