LOWER MAINLAND — Some residents trying to make calls or watch their weekend sports Saturday night (Nov. 29) have found themselves without service due to a Rogers outage that has persisted overnight into the early morning.

Rogers customers from Vancouver and Burnaby, all the way to Langley and Mission, have had their internet, TV and home phones cut off before 6:30 p.m. due to a fire causing a technical issue, according to the Rogers support page.

The website Down Detector showed a spike of 1,850 reported outages at 6:21 p.m., with nearly two-thirds of them affecting landline and internet services.

Technicians worked overnight to resolve the issue, and as of 5:20 a.m., half of all disruptions have been fixed.
