ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department has issued a safety reminder after removing more than a handful of impaired drivers from local roads overnight.

Frontline officers removed eight impaired drivers Thursday night, November 27, bringing the total amount to 1,125 drivers taken off the streets so far this year.

“Our message is clear: impaired driving will not be tolerated in Abbotsford,” said AbbyPD in a social media post. “Let’s work together to ensure everyone gets home safely.”

Police say they will be ramping up their presence heading into the holiday season to conduct roadblocks and targeted enforcement.
