UPDATE 3:30 P.M.: Volunteers have assembled another search party this evening, starting at Chilliwack Fire Department Hall 1 on Cheam Avenue.

The group will be canvassing all fast food restaurants, motels and grocery stores with flyers to spread the word out to any businesses the teen may visit over the next day.

CHILLIWACK — Police are continuing the search for a Chilliwack teen who has been missing for nearly 48 hours.

On Wednesday (Nov. 26) at around 5:45 p.m., 15-year-old Jack Terpstra was last seen at Evergreen Hall, walking east on Spadina Avenue towards the cadet hall.

Community members have since tried to locate him, including a local effort by over 170 people who attended last night’s search party across the city.

“We are following up on every lead and tip that we receive,” said Superintendent Darren Pankratz, Officer in Charge of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment. “The community’s response has been incredible, and we encourage anyone who may have seen Jack or has information on his whereabouts to contact us immediately.”

Terpstra is described as 5’4“, roughly 150 pounds, with short brown hair and green or blue eyes. He was believed to be seen wearing dark pants, a black hoodie sweatshirt, and a blue/white mesh hat with a blueberry plant symbol on the front.

He was also carrying a black backpack.
