MISSION — Mission RCMP’s latest round-up of community stories features several thefts and break-ins from the previous week.

Police responded to 337 calls for service between November 10 and 16.

One notable call included a red 2001 Ford F-350 that was reported stolen from a Chilliwack business on Remembrance Day and later spotted the following afternoon– in Hatzic.

A concerned citizen reported that the truck stopped at a gas station, where two teenage girls went out to ask people for gas money while a male driver refused to talk to anyone.

The truck wasn’t spotted again for a few days until November 15, when the driver sped off after seeing a Mission RCMP officer on Cherry Avenue. The officer then found the truck dumped nearby, with two occupants fleeing from it. Both individuals were arrested, and a third remains outstanding.

Two other pick-ups stolen from the same business on November 11 have since been recovered.

RCMP are also asking for the public’s help with two unrelated break-ins that week.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on November 11, a man went into an open garage door on Cleven Drive, stole tools and the homeowner’s keys to a white Ford Escape, and came back to take the vehicle. The SUV was recovered that same day.

On November 12 at around 12:45 a.m., two men with face coverings broke into a house on Brant Avenue and bear-sprayed a resident after a confrontation. Nothing was taken from the house.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and quote file numbers 25-14357 or 25-14406, respectively.
