Farmers Convoy to roll out from Fraser Valley communities Saturday

Nov 21, 2025 | 4:31 PM

HOPE — Some farmers and supporters in the Fraser Valley are joining a nationwide convoy protesting issues ranging from food insecurity to stronger land and property rights.

The peaceful protest is set to roll out from Rolly’s Restaurant in Hope at 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, moving on to the Lickman Exit on-ramp in Chilliwack, the Sumas Way Exit in Abbotsford and the Colossus Theatre in Langley.

Upon asking a local organizer for more details, the individual only responded to Fraser Valley Today with information from the over 20,500-member public group “Farmers Protest Canada”.

“This nationwide Farmers Protest is about protecting Canadian farmers, defending land rights, and demanding transparency and accountability from government agencies,” read the group’s FAQ.

“It is also about addressing the growing concern that government bodies are exercising powers far beyond what Canadians consider fair, reasonable, or justified.”

The movement was sparked following the culls at a B.C. ostrich farm, with members calling for stronger property rights and evidence-based disease protocols.

Other appeals include protecting free speech in response to the introduction of Bills C-2, C-8 and C-9, as well as protecting food security by “standing up for farmers” and rejecting cloned meat.

The slow-roll convoy will move towards the final pit stop rally at Kitsilano Beach Park in Vancouver by noon.

The organizer did not respond to our question on expected turnout.
