Popkum firefighters called to RV fire Monday morning

BRIDAL FALLS — Popkum firefighters were called to an RV fire at a trailer park complex Monday morning.

According to scanner traffic, Popkum firefighters were advised about an RV fire at 53560 Bridal Falls Road, home of the Rainbow Ranch RV Park.

The RV was located at unit 31 underneath a tree.

On arrival, firefighters radioed dispatch to say there was a fully involved RV with a vehicle exposure nearby.

Multiple Popkum units responded, including an engine, a tender and a rescue apparatus, along with one or more of its chiefs.

Agassiz Fire was asked to send a single engine response for mutual aid, but was later stood down at 7:04 a.m.

RCMP was asked to attend by firefighters.

B.C. EHS paramedics were asked to respond due to smoke inhalation suffered by a resident.

Popkum Fire asked dispatch at 7:17 a.m. about an expected time of arrival for paramedics. Dispatch subsequently said paramedics would arrive by approximately 7:25 a.m.

Firefighters radioed dispatch to say the fire was struck, and overhaul was happening as of 7:30 a.m. A primary search of two units has been conducted and shows all clear.
