Agassiz shop catches fire Friday night, no injuries reported

AGASSIZ — A barrage of sirens zipped through Agassiz roads after a shop lit ablaze Friday night, November 14.

Scanner traffic reported the fire on Ottenbreit Road, near the No. 9, at around 9 p.m. Images and videos from the incident show the shop fully engulfed in flames, with tall billows of smoke emerging from the structure.

Harrison and Popkum fire departments were paged out for mutual aid.

Neighbours reported that members of the family residing in the property are all safe, and Hydro had cleared the adjacent house shortly after 9 p.m.
