Abbotsford police stop over 1K impaired drivers so far in 2025

ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford have issued a safety reminder after removing more than a thousand impaired drivers from local roads to date in 2025.

According to a social media post by the Abbotsford Police Department, officers have stopped 1,072 impaired drivers so far this year– roughly 22 per cent higher than figures from all of 2024.

Anyone with plans to head out this weekend is asked to have a designated driver, call a taxi or rideshare and stay overnight if needed.

“AbbyPD officers will be on patrol this weekend to keep our roads safe,” said AbbyPD. “If you see or suspect an impaired driver, call 911 right away.”
