Semi flips heading northbound on Coquihalla near Hope Friday morning

COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY — Crews are working to recover a big rig that flipped heading uphill on the Coquihalla Highway early Friday morning (Nov. 14).

Just before 1:30 a.m., DriveBC reported an overturned semi at the Zopkios Rest Area, roughly three kilometres south of the Coquihalla Summit, blocking all northbound lanes.

Traffic had been able to pass on the adjacent side road until about 7:45 this morning, when the left lane opened.

Drivers are advised to expect minor delays and watch for traffic control personnel.

The next update is scheduled for 5 p.m. today.
