CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack are appealing to the public for any surveillance camera imagery or dashcam footage after a pedestrian was struck Friday morning in Promontory.

According to a statement from RCMP spokesperson Sgt. James Mason, police are looking to identify a vehicle involved in the hit and run that left a 21-year-old female pedestrian with serious injuries.

Chilliwack RCMP responded at 6:41 a.m. Friday morning after a female pedestrian who was walking her dog was hit by a pickup truck near the intersection of McSwan Drive and Rexford Drive, Chilliwack. Police say the truck is believed to have momentarily stopped a short distance away from the collision site and then drove away.

The female pedestrian was attended to by British Columbia Emergency Health Services paramedics and transported to hospital for further assessment.

Chilliwack RCMP frontline officers, with the assistance of the General Investigation Team, have canvassed the neighbourhood. The truck is described only as a white full-size pickup truck; believed to be either a Ford or GMC/Chevrolet.

Chilliwack RCMP is asking residents in the area to review their home security cameras and/or vehicle dashcam footage between the hours of 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. to assist in the identification of the pickup truck. Given the location and time of day, police suspect the vehicle is likely registered to a local residence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file number 2025-48716.
