ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford are investigating an overnight incident of shots fired at a business.

According to a statement from AbbyPD Detective Jody Thomas, AbbyPD frontline patrol officers responded to the 31000 block of King Road at about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday morning after getting a report of bullet holes in the front window of a business in that area.

When police arrived, officers confirmed that a shooting had occurred earlier today in the early morning hours. Fortunately, no injuries were reported since business was closed at the time of the incident.

The shooting comes on the same day that AbbyPD Chief Constable Colin Watson cautioned the public against speculation and assumptions about a string of recent shootings, one of which included a homicide in broad daylight on Monday, Oct. 27 that claimed the life of a 68-year-old Abbotsford businessman. That same day, there was another shooting just a few hours later.
