Two transported to hospital after multi-vehicle accident in Chilliwack

UPDATE, 9:32 A.M. SUNDAY: In an emailed statement sent to Fraser Valley Today, B.C. Emergency Health Services says it received a call at 1:09 a.m. Sunday morning regarding a motor vehicle incident at Stevenson Road and Vedder Road. Three ambulances responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment and transported two patients to hospital in stable condition.

CHILLIWACK — Details are limited at this point, but Vedder Road near Stevenson Road in Chilliwack was closed Sunday morning following a multi-vehicle accident involving an RCMP SUV and another vehicle.

Two RCMP SUV units blocked both directions of vehicle traffic on Vedder Road at both Vedder/Stevenson and at the northbound access point to the Vedder Pointe shopping centre at 6640 Vedder Road.

As of 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning, two Reliable Towing Services trucks were seen hauling away a heavily damaged RCMP SUV which sustained substantial front end damage and another vehicle, a black four-door sedan, which also incurred significant damage.

The damaged vehicles could be linked to an overnight traffic collision several hours earlier. The PulsePoint app indicates there was some kind of traffic collision at 1:08 a.m. at Stevenson and Vedder Road. Three B.C. Emergency Health Services ambulances were dispatched (206A1, commonly referred to as Six-Alpha-One on the radio scanner, as well as 206A2 and 206A3), according to the app. Pulse Point indicates paramedics were cleared at 3:16 a.m., meaning the collision call required at least two hours from paramedics.
