Abbotsford launches $25K arts and culture grant for local artists, producers

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford is looking to support its colourful network of artists and organizations with a new Arts and Culture Grant.

The program will distribute a total of $25,000 in grants to local creators, producers, and nonprofits that help paint Abbotsford through community-minded programs and activities, increasing opportunities for social connection while stimulating the economy.

“As the cultural and economic Hub of the Fraser Valley, one of Council’s strategic goals is to foster an inclusive and connected community where residents can contribute and participate in a variety of activities that strengthen the vitality and social cohesion of our City,” said Ross Siemens, mayor of Abbotsford.

“This new grant program will help us achieve this goal by making arts and culture more accessible and plentiful in Abbotsford.”

Grants will be awarded to local individuals or groups with experience and financial need who demonstrate commitment to community engagement and artistic or cultural merit.

Council adopted the City’s Culture Connect Strategy in 2022, which includes opportunities like this program to turn Abbotsford into a cultural and economic hub in the Fraser Valley.

Applications are open until January 31, 2026, with grant recipients to be announced in March.
