Thousands lose power in Langley during lunch hour on Thursday

LANGLEY — On a day when it’s sunny and pleasant across the Fraser Valley, over 2,100 customers in Langley have lost power during the lunch hour Thursday for an unknown reason.

According to BC Hydro’s online dashboard, exactly 2,128 customers in Langley Township saw their electricity go out at 12:08 p.m.

There’s no possible cause identified as of 12:25 p.m.

Crews have been assigned and should arrive by 1:20 p.m.

There’s currently no expected time when power might return.

There are other power outages east of Langley in Abbotsford but those are planned outages where work is being done on BC Hydro’s infrastructure and equipment.
