CHILLIWACK — A 27-year-old Chilliwack motorist will have to find another way to get around town after his Chevy Cruze sedan was impounded for going more than double the speed on Evans Road earlier today.
According to a statement from police, an RCMP member clocked the motorist driving his 2019 Chevrolet Cruze at 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in the southbound lane of Evans Road Tuesday morning, Oct. 28, at 1 a.m.
As a result, the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the motorist received a $368 fine and three demerit points on his driving record.
“It doesn’t matter what time of day or night. Speeding endangers lives. Drive responsibly,” Chilliwack RCMP wrote.
