Original story:

YARROW/LINDELL BEACH/SUMAS PRAIRIE — Over 2,200 BC Hydro customers in Yarrow, Lindell/Lindell Beach, parts of Greendale and the Columbia Valley, and much of Sumas Prairie in East Abbotsford have lost power Friday afternoon.

According to BC Hydro’s online dashboard, exactly 2,215 customers lost power at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in an area described as east of Parallel Road and south of No. 2 Road.

However, the outage coverage map is much greater than just that. It affects Yarrow, areas southwest of Yarrow, parts of Greendale south of Keith Wilson Road, as well as most of Sumas Prairie.

The cause has been attributed as a downed tree across hydro wires.

Crews are on site.

Hydro’s website was last updated at 3:23 p.m.
