ABBOTSFORD — Whether it’s family, recreation or work, Samantha Palmer strives to put relationships at the forefront of all that she does.

That mentality underscores Palmer’s motive to join Communitas Supportive Care Society as their new philanthropy and donor engagement manager, bringing her experience and expertise to an organization that supports people who live with diverse abilities. She says she’s excited to bring her experience and expertise to the organization to make a real difference in the lives of people.

“I came to Communitas from the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce where I got to go out into the community and build relationships with businesses and not-for-profit leaders,” Samantha says. “My role here at Communitas helps me to use that experience to help Communitas’ mission to truly change lives.”

Collaboration constitutes a vital component in building healthy relationships, Palmer says. She sees her role as an opportunity to turn connections in to real impact.

“I love knowing that the connections that I foster directly contribute to creating inclusion and belonging for so many people,” she says.

When asked what her dreams are for people served by Communitas, she says that her hope is for each person to have a true sense of belonging, respect, and connection. She is inspired by her colleagues.

“I see the passion and pride that staff bring to their work every day and that’s what makes those dreams possible,” Samantha says. “It’s a really beautiful thing to be a part of.”

Palmer invites residents in the Fraser Valley to get involved with Communitas and connect with their service platform. She encourages people to visit CommunitasCare.com and sign up for the monthly e-newsletter or to connect through social media on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

Or, she says, drop by for a coffee.

“I love to meet in person and would be thrilled to have a coffee at Little Sprout Café, right here at our Bourquin office in Abbotsford,” she says.
