90,000 books to go on sale in annual Chilliwack Rotary Club event

CHILLIWACK — The local Rotary Club is inviting residents to browse roughly 90,000 literary works for its 41st annual book sale in Chilliwack.

Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from October 26 to November 1, the Chilliwack Rotary Book Sale will be held at Heritage Park’s barn # 1 at Luckakuck Road, just off the Lickman Road exit on Highway 1.

All materials are dropped off by the community through the Rotary Building, and a team sorts through the donations to pick out appropriate works. Anyone with materials is asked not to bring them to the event and to use the book bins at 44870 Wolfe Road instead.

“This book sale is hugely popular across the Lower Mainland,” said Janet Reeves, chair of the Rotary Book Sale committee.

“People come from all over – we’ve had people from across BC, Alberta, Washington State and Oregon attend – to pick up some great quality books, record albums, DVDs and CDs at a bargain price. Other than rare books, most items will be $1.00-$4.00 in price.”

An in-house band and a food truck will also be scheduled during parts of the weekend.
