Abbotsford PD surpasses ominous threshold involving scourge of impaired drivers in the city
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says every impaired driver removed from Abbotsford-area roads is a potential life saved.
With help from its Traffic Enforcement Unit, AbbyPD pulled over and removed eight impaired drivers from Abbotsford’s roadways in just six and a half hours Tuesday evening.
With roughly two and a months left in the year, however, the AbbyPD has surpassed a milestone that few people would be proud of. Exactly 1,010 impaired drivers have been taken off the road in 2025 alone – more than all of 2024 when 871 impaired drivers were removed.
“Every impaired driver stopped is a potential life saved,” AbbyPD wrote online. “Let’s work together: Plan ahead before you go out. Drive sober or use a designated driver. Report impaired drivers by calling 911.”
