RICHMOND — The BC Highway Patrol is looking to the public for help in determining the circumstances that led to a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 52-year-old man from Pitt Meadows Friday.

Police were called out shortly after noon on Friday (Oct. 10) to Highway 99. A white flatbed pickup truck left the highway while travelling northbound just past the Steveston onramp in Richmond.

“The evidence collected so far is that the deceased driver was alone in the white Dodge Ram flat deck. We have not identified any other vehicles or people involved,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin in a BC Highway Patrol news release. “Speaking to more witnesses and gathering dash-camera video will be key to figuring out the exact cause of this crash.”

Investigators are hoping someone who witnessed the crash will come forward and speak to them. They are also asking for dashcam video that may have captured some details of the crash. Members of the public who can provide any evidence are asked to contact the BC Highway Patrol in Burnaby at 604-526-9744 and quote file (1004) 2025-1855.
