ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford say impairment was not a factor in a motor vehicle incident that saw an Infiniti vehicle crash into a garden at an East Abbotsford home early Tuesday morning.

According to a statement from Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a single-vehicle collision near Lower Sumas Mountain. A social media post indicated the vehicle crashed at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 7).

Police say the driver reported experiencing mechanical issues, which led to a loss of control and the vehicle leaving the roadway, at which point it stopped on private property.

A roadside breath test was administered but the driver was not found to be impaired by alcohol, Sgt. Walker said.
