CHILLIWACK — A spokesperson for the Chilliwack RCMP detachment says a female was arrested following an incident of mischief in which she allegedly kicked in a car windshield in downtown Chilliwack Monday night.

According to the text of a social media post, a male claimed that he and a few friends ventured out for a cruise and took pictures of their vehicles Monday night. While taking pictures, a group of about four girls, as well as a male, approached him and his group and inquired whether they knew someone.

The male on social media claimed that the group of five individuals believed to be teenagers became progressively more and more aggressive towards him, prompting him and his friend(s) to want to leave the area. An undisclosed altercation ensued, at which point a female later climbed on a vehicle and smashed the car’s windshield through multiple kicks.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Alexandra Mulvihill says RCMP members responded to Mill Street and Wellington Avenue for a report of mischief in progress. Police were able to locate the female whom the reporting party said had jumped on his car and kicked his windshield.

“The female was arrested and due to her level of intoxication was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital. Once cleared for cells by a doctor, the female was brought back to Chilliwack Detachment to be released once sober,” Sgt. Mulvihill said.

Fraser Valley Today inquired whether the female would face any charges. Sgt. Mulvihill confirmed the complainant declined to proceed with charges and left the area.
