ABBOTSFORD — An upcoming exhibit at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) in Abbotsford invites guests to explore themes of memory and belonging by looking inward.

Starting Friday, October 10, “Where is Home?” aims to capture how ‘home’ transcends borders through relationships and nostalgia with a collection of photos, mixed media, and art installations.

“‘Where is Home?’ expands from an individual reflection into a collective inquiry — weaving together ideas, felt emotions, and lived experiences across cultures,” wrote UFV

The artistic movement features Anushray Singh with Creative Arts alumni and student artists Yukun Lin, Zee Coulter, Eddy Rubi, Piper Hornall, Yamel Olivan, Shaevi Khatri, Kay Ber and Mithil Dedhia.

“Each artist reimagines ‘home’ through a deeply personal lens — from everyday objects to symbolic connections that bind us across distance and time. Collectively, the works open a dialogue on belonging, identity, and the spaces we create for ourselves.”

This exhibit marks Singh’s fourth iteration of a larger collection, “Home, Nostalgia, and the Third Space,” which features videos composed of archival footage, projection, sound and more, illuminating the entire gallery.

A welcome reception is scheduled for October 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the S’eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery. The exhibit is set to run until November 7.
