Chilliwack resident Tyler Man, who lives in the vicinity of the Yale Road corridor, told Fraser Valley Today via Facebook Messenger that a truck driver reportedly took out a hydro pole in front of his home.

“We now have no power. The cops quickly showed up as I got through the truck and lost it on him and told the cops that’s the guy they are looking for,” Man said. “I watched the whole thing go down and I came face-to-face with the trucker. If it wasn’t for the cop, things would’ve gotten ugly. The guy needs to take some lessons on how to drive. I totally watched it happening because he was too long to pull in where he did.”

Chilliwack firefighters radioed dispatch at 9:20 p.m. asking when public works crews might arrive since a barricade will need to be set up. Dispatch did not have an ETA for public works crews.
