ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police have released more information on a collision that sent a cyclist to the hospital Sunday (Sept. 28) evening.
In a news release, police say first responders arrived at the scene of a crash between a vehicle and a cyclist just before 10 p.m. on South Parallel Road, just east of Whatcom Road. They found a 32-year-old female cyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. She had been struck by a grey Chevy Avalanche pickup.
The woman was airlifted to hospital in the Vancouver area for treatment. There has been no update on her condition.
Police say the driver of the pickup and his passenger remained at the scene and are cooperating with police investigators. Police do not suspect impairment as a factor. Instead, they note there was poor light conditions in the area at the time of the crash.
