CHILLIWACK — Old Yale is brewing up a better space this fall, but it will need to temporarily shut the doors to its original home in Chilliwack first.

Construction will begin at the brewery’s interior starting Monday, September 29, but details remain sparse for now.

“What we can say is that we’re giving the interior a much-needed glow-up,” said the brewery. “Think brighter, cleaner, more intentional. A space that feels fresh, energized, and true to who we are.”

The patio will remain largely unchanged.

Staff were given notice at the beginning of September, along with support and resources to help them during the transition.

“To make the impact we’re aiming for with this renovation – both in the physical space and guest experience – we knew we’d need to fully press pause. And that meant having some tough conversations with the people who’ve helped bring this place to life over the years.”

Old Yale Brewing opened its first location in Chilliwack in 1999. It has since branched out to Abbotsford and Beaumont in Alberta.

All services and events will be status quo until Old Yale Brewing’s temporary closure on Sunday, September 28. Doors are set to reopen in Spring next year.
