Nearly 250 rental homes begin construction in Langley Township
LANGLEY — Hundreds of affordable homes have started to break ground in the Township of Langley after a fast-tracked program with the B.C. government.
In the Aldergrove community at 272nd Street and Fraser Highway, construction has begun on a 128-unit building with rooftop gathering space and ground-floor commercial area hosting non-profit organizations and a new library.
The same rooftop amenity space will also be up at the 118-unit Willoughby site at 20230 72B Ave., next to the firehall. BC Builds touts easy access to transit in both locations.
“These homes are for the people who keep our communities running – teachers, tradespeople, health-care workers and others, so they have a place to live close to their jobs, communities and loved ones,” said Christine Boyle, minister of housing and municipal affairs.
