BC Hydro to turn the power off for over 5,700 customers in Agassiz area next week

AGASSIZ — BC Hydro says it will conduct a planned power outage next week that will impact over 5,700 customers in Agassiz and the surrounding areas.

According to its website, BC Hydro has scheduled a planned power outage for next Thursday evening, September 25 starting at 10 p.m. until Friday morning, Sept. 26 at 6 a.m.

The outage impacts Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, Chehalis, Deroche, Harrison Mills, Kent, and Seabird Island.

BC Hydro lists the cause as “planned work being done on our equipment.”

Exactly 5,721 customers will be without service for an estimated eight hours.

BC Hydro says the impacted residents have been notified about the planned outage.

There’s a smaller planned outage for next week in Agassiz as well in which 617 customers will lose their power starting Wednesday evening, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m. until Thursday morning, Sept. 25 at 5 a.m.
