Thefts, shoplifters mark first week of September for Mission RCMP
MISSION — It’s never a dull day in Mission as Mounties have kicked off the month with hundreds of calls for service, ranging from a runaway suspect to thefts and driving offences.
According to local RCMP’s latest community round-up, the Crime Reduction Unit spotted a man with several warrants in the passenger seat of a pickup truck as it was leaving toward Abbotsford.
When an officer stopped them, the 38-year-old tried to hide his face, denied his identity and resisted arrest, but was eventually taken to custody for court.
On September 1 and 2, officers responded to vehicle break-ins along Knight Avenue, Arbutus Avenue, Topper Drive, 3rd Avenue, and 4th Avenue, where several cars were left unlocked.
