Kent Institution welcomes new warden in Change of Command Ceremony

AGASSIZ — Correctional staff at a maximum-security prison near Agassiz have welcomed new leadership at a ceremony held on Wednesday (Sep. 10).

Warden Jeff Holliday is now taking over from the outgoing Warden Jordan Quaroni, following the Change of Command ceremony at Kent Institution.

“The ceremony reinforces the responsibility of leadership in the role of institutional head,” said the Correctional Service of Canada. “It represents the symbolic passing of responsibility, authority, and accountability from one correctional leader to another.”

Quaroni had been warden at Kent Institution since September 2022 and has moved on to the medium-security Mountain Institution in Agassiz.

Kent Institution opened in 1979 and can accommodate up to 420 offenders. The facility also offers a range of educational and social programs to offenders during their stay.
