Power restored after outage leaves over 5,400 without power in Abbotsford Friday morning

UPDATE: Power has now been restored to thousands of customers in Abbotsford who lost power this morning due to downed trees.

ABBOTSFORD — Over 5,400 BC Hydro customers lost power in central Abbotsford Friday morning due to downed trees across utility wires.

BC Hydro’s online outage dashboard says there are four outages affecting west Abbotsford. In total, 5,433 customers lost power.

The impacted areas appear to include the Abbotsford Airport, Townline Hill, areas to the west of Clearbrook, and just east of Highstreet, as well as the Marshall Road corridor.
