Chilliwack first responders paged for multi-vehicle crash on Prest Road, north of Hwy. 1

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP members, B.C. Ambulance paramedics and Chilliwack firefighters were dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday evening for a multi-vehicle incident on Prest Road north of Highway 1, and south of Chilliwack Central Road.

According to scanner traffic, and witness descriptions sent to Fraser Valley Today, an estimated three ambulances, two fire engines and upwards of five Chilliwack RCMP vehicles have attended the incident.

A dark van suffered significant damage due to the motor vehicle crash, while a third vehicle wound up in a ditch.

A third vehicle resembling a motorhome or RV incurred significant damage likewise.

As of 6:28 p.m., there is no mention of a helicopter being launched.

Prest Road is blocked in both directions due to the crash.

Firefighters radioed dispatch at 6:32 p.m. to say a patient was left in care of B.C. Ambulance Service, and the scene has been left in care of RCMP members.
