Passenger rescued after going overboard on BC Ferries sailing from Tsawwassen
VICTORIA — A passenger was rescued after going overboard during a BC Ferries sailing that departed from Metro Vancouver’s Tsawwassen terminal on Wednesday.
A statement from BC Ferries says the vessel stopped shortly after leaving the terminal at 1 p.m. in response to reports that a passenger was in the water.
It says another ferry quickly joined the rescue effort, and BC Ferries crew members brought the person to safety.
The ferry company says the person was reportedly in stable condition and taken to hospital by ambulance.
