Man dies after car collision in Maple Ridge Saturday night

MAPLE RIDGE — Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian late Saturday night (Aug. 30).

At around 11:02 p.m., an officer on patrol was flagged down at the 20400 block of Lougheed Highway, where initial findings showed a man had been hit by a car.

“Attending police officers administered first-aid to the man, and Maple Ridge Fire Rescue and Emergency Health Services attended the scene,” said the RCMP.

“The man was transported to hospital but later died.”

The Serious Crimes Unit and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) were called out to help with the investigation.

Lougheed Highway has since reopened between 203 Street and 207 Street.
