New program launching this fall for children in Hope and Mission
HOPE — United Way BC is launching a new program this fall to support rural families in the Fraser Valley through the back-to-school season.
The latest BC Child Poverty Report Card shows nearly 17 per cent of kids in the Fraser Valley have been living in poverty.
School’s Out programs are looking to offer kids aged 6 to 12 opportunities for mental and physical wellness, social and academic enrichment, and healthy snacks during key after-school hours.
“The School’s Out program offers kids a safe space, caring adults, and opportunities to grow,” said Trisha Dulku, strategic initiatives manager at United Way BC.
